Rod's career began in 1977 when he completed a three year Bachelor of Applied Science (Surveying) degree at WAIT (now Curtin University). Rod then served his articles for two years with Eric Harley in Albany, and went on to complete the Land Surveyors Licensing Board's survey law, practical and oral exams, becoming registered as a Licensed Surveyor in 1978.
In 1980 Rod entered into partnership, forming Harley and Hedderwick, and in doing so, embarked on a professional career that has spanned some 30 successful years.
Rod's early training and work environment has enabled him to become an expert in the craft of Rural Boundary Definition, whilst gaining a vast range of experience in all areas of urban, residential and commercial development.
Rod has an innate ability to build long term relationships with clients, listening to their needs and delivering solutions with expert advice and service. His key roles as Managing Director involve a high level of client consultation and strategic planning for the development of the business.
Rod is passionate about his work, priding himself on excellence and precision. He is also dedicated to the future development of Harley Global, and is determined to foster improved understanding of the Planning and Surveying industry through the work of his trusted and professional team.
