Harley for Life

Harley Global was proud to play a part in this year's Cancer Council Relay for Life held in Albany on the weekend of the 15th & 16th March.

Harley Global also sponsored the Albany Athletics Club team of 15 runners with an innovative $ per lap sponsorship that encouraged the runners to keep going as the kilometres mounted.

The sponsorship started at $2 per kilometre for the first 100km and kept doubling every 100 kilometres to reach $16 per kilometres for every kilometre beyond 300. Chris Fry, Senior Engineering Surveyor with the Albany office, captained the team and believes the sponsorship incentive definitely helped to encourage the runners. The "Albany Aths" team managed to run an incredible distance of 327km, which set a new record for the Albany event and raised a total of $1,832.

Oyster Harbour Charity Home

Harley Global are pleased to announce their alliance with the Oyster Harbour Joint Venture, Homes West, WA Country Builders and many other local organisations in making a considerable donation to the Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) - Western Operations. A piece of land within the prestigious Oyster Harbour Estate in Albany was donated by the Joint Venture and Homes West for the development of a Charity Home. The home is being built by WA Country Builders, with construction commencing on the home in September 2007 with the estimated completion date of March 2008. Harley Global were pleased to donate the Feature Survey of the land.

Upon completion, the home will be auctioned and all proceeds donated to the Flying 1000, a major fund-raising sub committee of the RFDS, whose goal is to raise funds for life saving medical equipment for the fit-out of each new aircraft purchased. The funds from the auction will go a long way to supporting the fit-out of the two newest aircraft, replacing two older ones from the fleet of eleven that service Western Australia. The RFDS relies wholly on support from corporate and individual donors to fund essential capital items (such as aircraft and medical equipment).

Contributing to such a worthy cause is very important to Harley Global, and reinforces their strong values of community involvement. Harley Global are also pleased that their clients are willing to contribute to important community initiatives that are simply vital to rural communities.
