Lake Bryde Recovery Catchment Valley Floor Waterway
Our Bunbury office has recently been involved in Stage 4A on the Lake Bryde Recovery Catchment Valley Floor Waterway. The Lake Bryde Wetland complex is located 35km South East of Lake Grace and has been selected by the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) as a recovery catchment due to its high
natural diversity values.
Stage 4A of the project has involved construction of a 6 kilometre section of a waterway to address prolonged inundation and degradation of the extremely flat valley landscape. It is one of several stages in DEC's recovery project.
Harley Global has been involved in the project since March this year and has provided all survey services for this stage of the project. Our surveyors have set out the initial clearing corridor and established control for the 6km route using the latest
RTK GPS technology.
They have also provided preliminary pegging for the centerline design points and have completed a precise lateral pegging of the channel base and batters for the final waterway structure.
The project has now come to a halt due to winter rain and is due to start again in the next few months. When the project is complete Harley Global's surveyors will carry out an as-constructed survey over the 6km channel and report our results to the project
team at DEC.
