Roy has spent most of his planning career dealing with rural and regional planning issues, including contributing to the existing rural subdivision policy environment. Roy and his family have lived in a number of farming and remote communities, which has provided him with a unique view on how planning impacts on regional and rural areas. He has also gained valuable experience in dealing with infrastructure provision in regional areas, including accommodating mining-led growth and facilitating urban and rural development.
Roy's particular areas of expertise include:
- Client advocacy on planning matters.
- Ensuring non-planning elements, such as health, engineering, environmental and building requirements are properly addressed in planning proposals.
- Town Planning Scheme Amendment and Rezoning documentation.
- Crown land dealings, including road closures, purchase of crown land and crown leases.
- Preparation of Development Applications, including assessment against local planning schemes and the R-Codes.
